Rapido is a mobile marketplace that allows users to book a bike taxi. Provides safety gear to riders. Bike owners who are willing to share a bike ride can list themselves on the platform and earn money. Charging users at INR 5 per km with a base fare of INR 10. Riders can pay by cash or use digital wallets to pay the fare. Operating in a few selected areas of Bangalore as of March 2016 with plans to cover entire Bangalore city. App available on Android and coming soon to iOS as of April 2016. Raised pre-series A round of funding led by Hero MotoCorp Chairman Pawan Munjal, Google India head Rajan Anandan in April 2016. Started offering bike-pooling services in Nov 2016 in an attempt to improve unit economics. Claims to clock 3,000 rides per day with bike sharing contributing to 70% of these rides, as of Dec 2016.
