Mitra Biotech develops cell-culture based tools for personalized medicine and drug development. The company is developing products to predict patient response to various chemotherapies. Its proprietary technology CANScript replicates the in vivo tumor micro-environment by culturing patient's own tumor sample, and then uses several terminal and kinetic assays to estimate effect of chemotherapy drug combinations on the cultured cancer cells. Based on the assay results, the CANScript-associated algorithm gives an M-score, that is used as a predictor of patient response to the drug combination; higher the M-score, more effective the drugs for the patient. In addition, Mitra Biotech offers drug screening and discovery services to biopharma companies.
