Ather scooters have 3x lighter and smaller battery packs, a battery management system, more powerful traction motor. Based out of the Incubation Cell at IIT Madras. IIT Madras founding team. Seed support from IITMIC and RTBI, and angel funds. Had raised $1M in funding led by Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal of Flipkart and MEDALL Healthcare CEO – Raju Venkataraman. Raised Series A from Tiger Global in May, 2015. The company unveiled its first product - S340 - in Feb 2016.
